Our Mission: The mission of Legally Insane Films is to expose injustice and celebrate those who fight it.
Therefore, the goal of the Legally Insane Films (LIF) Fund is to help victims of domestic, legal, civil or human rights abuses tell their stories, even if they do not have the financial means to pay for production costs.
How it works: We take pitches all the time. All of them are heart wrenching. Many are worthy of public release. And a few are so compelling and socially or politically relevant that we want to start production on them right away! But oftentimes the victims behind these harrowing challenges cannot afford the initial costs for researching, filming and creating their story. So, we thought we would help. And we do this in two ways.
We fundraise all the time – through private donors and crowdsourced campaigns – to either populate monies for the Film Fund, or for other projects we are working on. These fundraising efforts frequently find us with monies that we do not spend on the films themselves. In these cases, we donate our own unspent budget to this fund.
The other way is through film profits. Twenty-five percent (25%) of each profit dollar goes into the LIF Fund. Once we have enough to get a project started, we select the most compelling and timely story in front of us, and get to work!
How you can get involved: Use the Donate buttons below to support this fund. We are not a 501(c)(3) organization. However the charitable efforts of our donors and of course our crew members that literally work directly for these victims with our own money through this fund, is good enough for us. Because justice has no price!
